Our very own Meri Healey was hired as the new managing librarian in 2013, replacing Murray Visser after his 32 years of service.
In 2014 the library underwent another renovation; new computers, shelves, carpeting, paint, a circulation desk, and comfortable seating were some of the additions/improvements.
By 1996, an interlibrary loan program was established. Three additional computers were installed for patrons to be able to access the holdings of all Hawai'i State Public Library System holdings, Chaminade University, and the University of Hawai'i.
There was also a Naval Audit of all Department of Defense libraries but that's another story; you can check out that section in the archives. It resulted in 1999's H.R.3616 Defense Authorization bill.
