Adding the Notice Helper

You can enable the notice helper by login to WorkFlows using the administrative SOLOMON account.  Then select reports, right click on schedule new report and click on properties.  You can enable the Display notices helper from the Helpers tab.  If you save your properties, this will apply next time you logon to WorkFlows with your regular account.

After completing this task and starting WorkFlows with your regular credentials, the notice helper will be visible from any overdue notice report when you select the charge notice tab.  The notices should be visible to you from this menu.  This will give you the option to either modify/delete an existing notice or add a new one.

Adding the "Onshelf Items" Wizard

Here are the instructions you need to set up the "onshelf Items" wizard in the circulation module.

1. Click on Preference > Desktop > Current Toolbar > then select Local Toolbar Management.

2. Step 2 will depend on whether you have anything listed under the Local Toolbar Files (i.e. the third pane on the right hand side.)  If you don't have anything there, you will need to select circulation and right click to "Copy to Local".  This will copy this group of wizards to your local toolbar.  Note that it will not include the wizard you need. So you need to add it from the Delivery Toolbar Files (first pane to the left).  See Step 3 below.

3. Expand Holds and select Onshelf Items then right click and copy.

4.  Then move to the third pane (local toolbar) and select any wizard under the hold group of wizards (preferably the last one), right click and select paste after.  You should be able to see the new wizard now.

4. Click close to exit the customization tool and save your options.

5.  Et voila, now if you click on the Holds group of wizards, it will render the button for the Onshelf Items.

Transfer

The Transfers wizard is used to perform the following functions:

  • Transfer an item to an existing call number
  • Transfer a call number and all of its associated items to a different existing catalog record
  •  Transfer all call numbers/items from one existing catalog record to a different existing catalog record

To transfer a title (call number or items)

1  In the Special Cataloging Functions group, click the Transfers wizard. The Item Search window appears.

2  Search for the source record you want to transfer. If the View pane is turned on and your search finds results, a list of matching records displays in the View pane (lower portion of the window) on the Records tab. The Description and Call Number/Item tabs also display. These tabs provide additional record information.

3  On the Records tab, select the record you want, and then click Add to Tree. The record displays in the Transfer tree pane.

4  In the Transfer tree pane, select the record you want to transfer, and then click Retain for Transfer.

5  After the record has been retained for transfer, select the destination record to which you want to transfer the call numbers and items, and then click Add to Tree.

6  In the Transfer tree pane, select the destination record, and then click Transfer. Depending on how your properties are configured, a message may display stating that this operation will remove the title record. If you want to proceed with the transfer, click Yes or click No to cancel the transfer. A Transfer Operation Results dialog box displays with information about the transfer status, source-element, and server message. Click OK to close the dialog box.

7  After transferring the record, click Close to close the wizard.

Note:  If you get an error that you cannot move the last existing call number and items, you will need to change the behavior properties using the SOLOMON account or just add the following directive to your property file:

PROP_ITEMTRANSFER_REMTTL_NS|Y||

The property file resides here:  C:\Users\[username]\Sirsi\Workflows\Property\property

Offline Mode Configuration Files

In order to configure the offline module, the following configuration files need to be transferred from the server to user's workstation:  dumpdate, delinq, config and verifylist.  This should happen automatically.  However, if the user does not have full control on the c:\Program Files (x86)\Sirsi\JWF\Configure folder, make sure to copy the verifylist to this folder.  You only need to do this once.
