Small Business Registration

This guide will help MCBH residents with the process of creating a small business in the state of Hawaii, registering the business on base with MCCS, and gaining approval with 'Ohana Hunt Military Communities.

'Ohana Hunt Military Community (Hunt) must approve any home-based businesses run by their residents.  Businesses must abide by all terms included in their lease agreement and residents are responsible for any damages to the premises due to the home-based business.  Residential restrictions for running a business from your home can be found in your signed lease agreement.

Once approved by the Office of Staff Judge Advocate (OSJA), they will pass the documentation onto Hunt for final approval.  Hunt requires the following additional documents:

  • A written request to the Family Housing Director for permission to conduct a home business aboard MCBH with the following information:
    • Name of the person who will conduct the business
    • Business name
    • Description of the business
  • Copy of your Hawaii General Excise Tax License
  • Business card and/or any brochures for your business

'Ohana Military Community (OMC) requires residents to complete a Home Based Business Addendum and receive approval from the Resident Services Office (RSO).  The addendum can be picked up from your nearest RSO.
