The New Parent Support Program (NPSP) is a professional team of licensed counselors, therapists, social workers and nurses who focus on providing one-on-one support for new and expectant parents. The program helps parents, including expecting parents, develop the skills they need to provide a nurturing environment for their children.
Having a new baby in the home is a pleasure and a challenge for most parents. But for military families who are separated from extended family, parenthood can pose special concerns. To help parents cope with the challenges, the military has developed the NPSP. This program is voluntary and free of charge.
Through a variety of programs including home visits, Baby Boot Camp and Parenting Proudly classes, the NPSP will help your family cope with the unique, everyday demands and challenges of raising a family in the military.

Maternity care is all of the medical services related to pregnancy. This includes:
Prenatal care
Labor and delivery
Post-partum care
Treatment of any complications

TRICARE covers medically-necessary pregnancy care, but there are some limits.
The plan you're using will determine where you get pregnancy care.

The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), is a federally funded program which provides Hawaii residents with nourishing supplemental foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding promotion and health and social service referrals. The participants of WIC are either pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum women, and infants and children under age five who meet income guidelines and have a medical or nutritional risk.

The Parent Line is a free Statewide confidential telephone line. We are Hawaii’s premier resource on child behavior, child development, parenting, caregiver support, and community resources. Our experienced phone line staff will help you problem-solve parenting challenges and child and adolescent behavior.
