BIOGRAPHY

James Halliday, owner of Gregarious Simulation Systems and developer of the OASIS (Ontologically Anthropocentric Sensory Immersive Simulation) that contains 1000s of simulated worlds has died. The OASIS is a massive multiplayer online game that contains 27 cube shaped sectors each containing 100s of different planets.  It is the world's most played and immersive game to date. The year is 2040.

James Donovan Halliday was born an only child in Middletown, Ohio on June 12, 1972. His 1st game system that he owned was a 1979 Atari 2600.  When he was 15 years old he created his first videogame: Anorak's quest.  He and his longtime friend created Gregarious Games as teens creating and selling videogames.  Then in December 2012, the company rebranded itself as Gregarious Simulation Systems and released OASIS.

Halliday developed a quest in search of hidden keys and a golden Easter egg. The one the finds the egg inherits his entire fortune currently valued in excess of $240 billion dollars.
